At Schroth Boss Scoliosis Clinic, we are dedicated to empowering teens and adults with scoliosis through specialized care using the Schroth Method. As the only physical therapy clinic in Chicago’s south suburbs exclusively focused on scoliosis, we address the critical need for tailored resources in a community where up to 7 million Americans face this condition with limited support. UNDERSTAND YOUR CURVE

Understanding your curve is the cornerstone of managing scoliosis because it provides the key to targeted, effective care. By knowing the specifics of your spine’s curve pattern, you can engage in exercises and strategies that address your unique needs, helping to reduce pain, improve posture, and prevent progression.

EXPAND

Expansion breathing is vital for treating scoliosis. In scoliosis, the rib cage rotates along with the spine, creating imbalances in movement and alignment. By practicing targeted breathing techniques, we can encourage the rib cage to expand in specific areas, helping to de-rotate the spine over time and create volume within the torso to stabilize the spine.

ELONGATE

Elongation of the spine is key for scoliosis because it helps decompress the vertebrae, reducing imbalances caused by curvature and rotation. By actively lengthening the spine, we improve posture and midline alignment, and decrease pressure on nerves and joints. This also helps manage pain, supporting better movement and overall spinal health.

Dr. Katie started Schroth Boss to bring everyone the benefits of the Schroth Method. As a Physical Therapist, she saw the incredible results the Schroth Method brought to her scoliosis patients, who often avoided or delayed surgery, reduced or eliminated their pain, and got back to activities they never thought possible. However, she kept hearing from patients who needed help but didn’t have a Schroth specialist nearby. Some would even drive over 3 hours just to see her. She knew there had to be a better way, so she decided to create an online program to provide everyone with all the benefits of the Schroth Method without all the hassle, travel, or high fees. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing someone become a Schroth Boss empowered to overcome scoliosis and live on their own terms.

As a cash-based, hybrid practice, we combine in-person visits with online support so you can master Schroth exercise and gain long-term independence in managing your spine. By not working with insurance, we avoid the restrictions that often limit care and instead use the most up-to-date technology and strategies to support your scoliosis journey. The Schroth Essentials Program is a 6-week program to build a strong foundation in the Schroth Method. You’ll learn Schroth customized to your specific needs & goals- plus strength, mobility, and posture exercises through personalized one-on-one sessions coupled with guided online training to support your journey. The goal is to give you the tools to manage your scoliosis independently, reduce pain, improve function, and prevent curve progression.

  • One-on-One Sessions: Four individualized sessions over 6 weeks — beginning with an initial evaluation, followed by one session per week for the next two weeks, and concluding with a final check-in during the last week of the program.
